Wind-cold cold refers to a type of external illness caused by wind-cold. Its symptoms are mainly cold and fever, headache, aching or pain in the limbs, nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, cough, and itchy throat. The tongue is light red with a thin white coating. The pulse is floating or tight. Wind-cold and influenza are two different diseases, and the key point of differentiation is the symptoms of fever. The symptoms of fever are mild, short-lived and easy to subside, and the fever will not recur after the fever subsides; however, influenza is characterized by persistent high fever, which tends to recur after the fever subsides and is accompanied by other more serious systemic symptoms.
