The number one cause of death in China in recent years is cerebral infarction (stroke), of which cerebral ischemia or cerebrovascular obstruction accounts for 90%, of which carotid artery stenosis accounts for another 50%. As one of the main blood vessels supplying blood to the brain, the carotid artery has one on each side of the neck, which mainly carries the mission of transporting blood from the heart to the head and face, and plays a pivotal role in the normal operation and metabolism of human blood. However, when the intima of the carotid artery thickens, carotid artery stenosis is formed. Clinical studies have found that atherosclerotic plaque is the main factor leading to carotid stenosis, like smoking, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes and obesity in daily life, which can also accelerate the development of atherosclerotic plaque. In addition, some people with unreasonable dietary habits and lack of exercise are also prone to carotid artery stenosis. Therefore, it is very important to understand the causes of carotid stenosis in time and to develop good dietary habits for prevention and scientific treatment. At present, the clinical treatment of carotid artery stenosis is divided into two kinds of treatment methods: medicine and surgery. Drug treatment can only alleviate the further development of the disease and is not the best choice. For patients with moderate carotid stenosis or above, carotid endarterectomy is required. Carotid endarterectomy is a relatively advanced technique in China, which is performed under a high-precision microscope, allowing a clear and comprehensive view of the overall condition of the carotid artery, accurately locating the carotid artery lesion and the degree of damage, and effectively repairing the severely diseased carotid vessels so that the vessels can run smoothly.
