How to treat a liver abscess that grows at the very top?

Liver abscesses that grow at the tip can be treated both non-surgically and surgically. If the liver abscess that grows at the tip is multiple small abscesses, it should be treated non-surgically. Firstly, the primary lesion needs to be actively treated, and then antibiotics should be selected. Broad-spectrum antibiotics such as amikacin and metronidazole should be used first, and then the medication should be adjusted according to the bacterial culture and drug sensitivity test. Systemic symptomatic supportive therapy also needs to be strengthened, and puncture drainage can also be used if the abscess is large. Surgical treatment includes abscess incision and drainage and hepatic lobectomy and segmental resection. The former is suitable for large abscesses that have broken through, causing peritonitis or combined with biliary tract diseases; the latter is suitable for chronic thick-walled liver abscesses, containing dead space, and combined with other diseases that require resection of corresponding liver lobes and segments. Please seek medical attention if you feel unwell.
