The patient’s head hurts when touched, which is considered to be caused by myotonic headache or neuropathic headache. Myotonic headache is the most common primary headache in clinical practice, accounting for about 70%-80% of all headache patients. Patients may present with a sensation of tightness, pressure, or banding in the head. The patient’s pain is most often associated with obvious triggers, such as when the patient is tired, sleep deprived, or emotionally stressed. When the patient feels the top of the head there is a painful sensation, which is caused by the patient’s head fascia being irritated. Patients may also have pain in the top of the head when they feel it, which may be caused by neuralgia, such as temporal neuralgia. When patients have pain in the top of the head when they feel it, they should pay attention to whether it is caused by head trauma, and the patient has a subcutaneous hematoma that causes pain when they feel it.
