Skin burned by the sun is classified as sunburn, which can be treated with cold compresses, topical medications and oral medications.
Sunburn is an acute inflammatory reaction of the skin caused by sunlight over-exposure of exposed areas, which may appear as erythema, edema, blisters and hyperpigmentation, flaking, etc. The patient should immediately apply cold compresses with gauze soaked in saline.
