There is no such thing as appetite suppression at Nei Ting, the function of Nei Ting acupoint is to relieve tendons and activate collaterals (stretch the tendons and bones, dredge the meridians and channels), clear the intestines and regulate the stomach, etc. It is mainly used for treating gastrointestinal disorders such as diarrhea, dysentery, as well as evidence of pain and swelling in the dorsum of the foot. The Nei Ting point is located on the dorsum of the foot, between the 2nd and 3rd toes, behind the edge of the webbing of the toes at the point of the red and white meat margins (the location where the heart of the foot meets the dorsum of the foot). There is no claim that the Nei Ting point has the effect of suppressing appetite. Acupuncture at this point has the effect of clearing away heat and liquefying the orifices, relaxing the tendons and activating the collaterals, clearing the intestines and regulating the stomach. It can be used to treat heat-related diseases of the five senses, such as toothache and sore throat, as well as gastrointestinal diseases, such as acid vomiting, constipation, dysentery, etc. It can also be used to relieve metatarsophalangeal joint pain and dorsal swelling. This point is often combined with other points to treat certain diseases, such as with the Tianshu point, Sanli point for diarrhea; with Datun point, Yinjiao point, Taibai point, Qihai point, Sanli point, Zhongfeng point for abdominal distension and pain.
