Measles is a serious viral infectious disease, the incidence of measles has dropped significantly since the implementation of the measles vaccine program, but the incidence of measles has increased in recent years, especially since this year, the infection department of our hospital has continued to receive cases of measles from the five districts of the city and the suburbs, with a significant increase in the trend of previous years. In response to this situation, the following tips for parents: 1. How should I respond after contact with a measles patient? Generally speaking, measles patients are contagious for 5 days before and after the onset of the rash and are susceptible to infection after contact with them (except for those who have been successfully vaccinated against measles), so to avoid the occurrence of infection, the following can be done: ① contact with the patient within 2 days of vaccination against measles, which allows the body to produce specific antibodies at an early stage of incubation to prevent the onset or reduce the symptoms. ② intramuscular injection of human gammaglobulin 0.25 ml/kg within 5 days of contact with the patient can prevent the disease, and the injection after 5 days cannot prevent the onset of disease, but can still reduce the symptoms. 2. How to control the body temperature of measles patients? When the body temperature is high during the prodromal phase of measles and the rash period, antipyretics are generally not used to avoid affecting the rash. To prevent convulsions in children, cold compresses can be applied to the child’s head, and sedatives can be given when the child is irritable. If the body temperature persists above 40°C, small doses of antipyretics can be applied as appropriate. 3. When can a child with measles be released from isolation? After the measles should generally be isolated until 6 days after the rash, or 10 days after the rash if the child has pneumonia. Beyond this time, the child is not contagious and can attend daycare or school. 4, correctly identify the reaction after measles vaccination Measles vaccination 8 to 12 days after the vaccination, some children appear fever, rash, mild body temperature of 38 ℃ or less, the whole body sporadic appearance of a few red rash, generally do not need special treatment, children can be given more water, 2-3 days to return to normal; serious body temperature of 38 ℃ or more, serious cases can even reach about 40 ℃, the whole body dense red papules, but no This situation is called “post-vaccination measles” and requires a visit to the hospital to ask the doctor to deal with it accordingly.
