If a domesticated dog has been vaccinated against rabies and a dog bite breaks the skin through pants, you usually will not contract the rabies virus. If you are bitten by a stray dog that has not been vaccinated against rabies and the skin is broken, you may be infected with the rabies virus even through your pants. It is recommended to rinse the wound with water for half an hour, disinfect it thoroughly with iodophor, and if there is bleeding during the disinfection period, try to push the blood out of the skin as much as possible, and then go to the nearest vaccination station at the earliest possible time to get a rabies vaccination as well as an injection of anti-rabies immunoglobulin. If the bitten dog carries the rabies virus, it is possible to be infected with the virus whenever there is a break in the mucous membranes of the skin. Rabies is a disease with no cure and a 100% mortality rate. Once bitten through the skin, don’t take any chances and go to an immunization station in time for rabies vaccination. If the bite wound is relatively large, should also be injected with rabies immune globulin, the use of active immunization to reduce the likelihood of disease, to ensure the health of the patient. Within 24 hours after being bitten by a dog, the patient should go to a regular hospital or epidemic prevention station for rabies vaccination. If the wound is bleeding, first squeeze the blood outward, use running tap water to rinse for 30 minutes, and with soap to clean the wound, then use 75% alcohol for thorough disinfection. It is recommended not to bandage the wound as much as possible and keep the wound locally dry and hygienic.
