Discharged from hospital a few days after appendicitis surgery

The recovery time after appendicitis is related to the patient’s condition, surgical method, general condition of the body and the ability to recover from injury, etc. It usually takes 3-5 days to be discharged from the hospital, and the hospital stay may be relatively longer for some patients with more serious conditions and poor health. Patients with appendicitis generally need surgery, and the current surgical methods include traditional open surgery and lumpectomy. Patients with mild appendicitis can choose minimally invasive surgery, with smaller incisions and faster recovery after surgery, and can be discharged from the hospital in 3-5 days. If patients with appendicitis have complications such as peritonitis, gangrene, perforation, or special location of the appendix, the condition is complicated at this time and lumpectomy cannot be completed, so they need to choose open surgery, and the postoperative recovery time may be relatively longer. In addition, the recovery time may also be prolonged in the elderly, children or patients with chronic diseases who are in poor physical condition. The typical manifestation of appendicitis is metastatic right lower abdominal pain, while the elderly and children have more atypical manifestations, which can easily develop into severe appendicitis, and such patients need special attention.
