Ovarian cysts over a few centimeters should be operated on

Ovarian cysts that are more than 5 centimeters in diameter should usually be operated on, and sometimes ovarian cysts that are smaller in size also require surgery.
Ovarian cysts with a diameter of more than 5 centimeters often have obvious clinical symptoms and usually require prompt surgical treatment.
For smaller ovarian cysts, most of them are physiologic cysts and usually do not require surgery, but regular observation is sufficient. If the size of the ovarian cyst grows rapidly during the observation process, or if obvious clinical symptoms begin to appear, early surgical treatment should be performed.
Some patients with ovarian cysts are suspected to be malignant tumors even though their size is relatively small, and should be treated with surgery in a timely manner. If a woman develops an ovarian cyst after menopause, even if the size is relatively small, surgery should be performed.
