Do lung nodules on the edge of the pleura need to be treated?

Lung nodules on the edge of the pleura can be followed up if they are considered benign; if there is a possibility of malignancy, further diagnosis and treatment are needed.
If the lung nodule is considered to be a benign tumor, such as a small, round or round-like nodule with clear and smooth borders and no enlarged lymph nodes around it, this lung nodule can be left in place without surgery and be followed up regularly.
If the lung nodule is malignant, such as large, fast-growing, irregularly shaped, infiltrating the surrounding area, or even surrounded by enlarged lymph nodes, it is recommended to confirm the diagnosis with further puncture biopsy, or surgical treatment.
Lung nodules on the edge of the lung membrane alone do not determine the need for further treatment, and most of them are recommended to undergo puncture biopsy to confirm the diagnosis before treatment.
