Can a normal liver ultrasound rule out liver cancer?

If the liver ultrasound is normal and there are no other symptoms and no relevant medical history, liver cancer can basically be excluded. If no abnormality is found through liver ultrasound and there are no other complications, such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, yellowish color, abdominal distension, etc., and the patient does not have a history of hepatitis or alcohol abuse, liver cancer can basically be excluded. However, if the alpha-fetoprotein of the patient is obviously elevated, and the patient has a history of viral hepatitis and alcoholism, etc., liver cancer cannot be absolutely ruled out if the liver ultrasound is normal, because the liver ultrasound may not be able to detect the small size of the liver cancer nodules with insidious onset of the disease. In addition, color ultrasound is limited by factors such as subjective consciousness, examination level and instruments, so the result is not completely accurate. In order to accurately determine whether it is liver cancer or not, in addition to color ultrasound examination, it is also necessary to consult a doctor in time and further improve the examination of liver function, alpha-fetoprotein, liver CT, enhanced CT and pathological biopsy, etc., so as to carry out treatment therapy according to the diagnostic results.
