Allium cepa treats chest paralysis (stuffy pain in the chest) and heart pain, Crocus sativus treats internal movement of liver wind, Calamus calamus treats fainting and epilepsy, Glycyrrhiza glabra treats weakness of the spleen and stomach, and Psidium guajava treats lung-heat cough. The combination of these herbs has the effect of moving Qi and dispersing knots.
Allium sativum has the efficacy of dispersing knots and promoting yang, directing stagnation and promoting qi circulation. It is used in treating epigastric (abdominal) distension and fullness, chest paralysis and heart pain, and diarrhea and dysentery.
Crocus sativus is effective in clearing heat, calming the liver, calming wind and calming alarm. It is used for tiredness, weakness of the spleen and stomach, cough and phlegm, palpitation and shortness of breath, carbuncle, swelling and sores, and relieving the potency and toxicity of drugs. This product should not be used with Gan Sui, Seaweed, Euphorbia, Coriandrum sativum.
Psidium guajava has the efficacy of broadening the chest and dispersing knots, clearing heat and purging phlegm, moistening dryness and sliding the intestines. It is used in treating phlegm with yellowish consistency, chest paralysis and heart pain, lung-heat cough, intestinal carbuncle (carbuncle occurring in the intestines and bowels, manifested by fever, pain in the right abdomen, and palpable lump), knotty-thorax plumpness (stomach distension and discomfort), lung carbuncle, and constipation. This product should not be used with Chuanwu, Caowu, or Appendicitis.
