What does c3 mean in chronic non-atrophic gastritis?

Chronic atrophic gastritis C3 means that the atrophy is close to the cardia but has not yet exceeded the cardia, and is a moderate atrophic gastritis.
Chronic atrophic gastritis is a chronic disease of the digestive system caused by multiple causative factors, and can be broadly categorized into six types under endoscopy: C1, C2, C3, O1, O2, and O3, with the letter C denoting closed atrophy and the letter O denoting open atrophy. When the atrophy approaches the cardia and does not exceed it, it is indicated by C3.
Patients who are found to have chronic atrophic gastritis C3 are advised to be checked for co-infection with Helicobacter pylori and to undergo regular gastroscopy to screen for early neoplastic lesions.
