In men with varicocele, if the ultrasound reveals that the diameter has dilated about 3.0 mm, this condition has reached the indication for surgery. Without surgery, conservative treatment will not make any difference and the application of medications will not cure this disease. Varicocele is a congenital anatomical abnormality, and the development of varicose veins generally leads to an increase in the local temperature of the testes, which can affect the spermatogenic function of the testes and lead to a decrease in the viability and production of sperm, and in severe cases can cause male infertility. In this case, it is recommended that men have their semen checked to determine if there are any abnormalities in the sperm. If there is any abnormality, it is likely to cause male infertility and should be treated promptly. At present, surgical treatment is the main treatment, which can be laparoscopic high spermatic vein ligation, or minimally invasive spermatic vein ligation, and transvascular interventional mucosal plugging, but only surgery can be performed to treat varicocele.
