Can you use baking soda to reduce swelling and pain in a gout attack?

Gout attack can not use baking soda to reduce swelling and pain, anti-inflammatory, analgesic drugs and general treatment should be used to improve symptoms.
Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate, which can alkalize the pH of urine, improve the solubility of urate, and reduce the formation of urate crystals. 1. Anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs: mainly including colchicine, which is one of the first choice of drugs for acute gout attack, can effectively reduce the inflammatory response, pain; and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, etoricoxib, etc., can be effective in inhibiting inflammation, pain; to the ineffectiveness of colchicine or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or contraindications to patients, but also take glucocorticosteroids, such as prednisone.
2. General treatment: gout attack patients should pay attention to rest, strict braking, elevated affected limbs, local ice packs can be used to improve the swelling and pain. At the same time to strict low purine diet, limit alcohol, drink more water to promote uric acid excretion.
