What drugs can eradicate H. pylori

To eradicate H. pylori, we are now using a quadruple regimen containing bismuth for 14 days. The specific medication used is an acid suppressant, a bismuth agent, plus two antibiotics. The acid suppressants commonly used are rabeprazole, omeprazole, pantoprazole, esomeprazole, etc. Bismuth agents commonly used are colloidal bismuth pectin. Antibiotics include amoxicillin, clarithromycin, metronidazole, furazolidone, tetracycline, levofloxacin, etc. Among these antibiotics, amoxicillin has a very good bactericidal effect, and the side effects are relatively small, and the resistance rate is very low, so if there is no penicillin allergy, it should be preferred to use amoxicillin. Tetracycline and furazolidone are also very effective, but the side effects are relatively large. In addition, can be combined with clarithromycin, metronidazole, now the resistance rate is very high, so, as far as possible, do not choose these two drugs at the same time. Levofloxacin is generally used in the remedial program. The specific program: rabeprazole 20mg, half an hour before meals in the morning and evening; bismuth potassium citrate 0.6g, half an hour before meals in the morning and evening; clarithromycin 0.5g, half an hour after meals in the morning and evening; amoxicillin 1.0g, half an hour after meals in the morning and evening, for a course of 2 weeks. The breath test was repeated after 4 weeks of discontinuation to see if H. pylori was killed. Also, it should be noted that a small percentage of patients have difficulty killing H. pylori in the first round.
