Symptoms of foot fasciitis, also known as fasciitis of the foot, are usually pain, pressure, hardening of the foot, and increased skin temperature. Foot fasciitis is mainly caused by localized muscle strain and localized fascial inflammation caused by violence to the muscles of the foot or prolonged walking by the patient. It is a sterile inflammatory condition that manifests as localized pain and tenderness. The most common symptom is heel pain and discomfort with tender points usually located on the sole of the foot near the heel. Characteristic manifestations of foot fasciitis are increased pain on waking up in the morning, decreased pain after a period of activity, increased pain on excessive walking, usually accompanied by hardening of the foot and increased skin temperature, and in severe cases, pain may be felt even when standing and resting.
