It is normal to not have a period during breastfeeding. During breastfeeding, more lactogen is secreted and less estrogen and progesterone are secreted, which may lead to irregular menstruation. This varies from person to person, and the symptoms may vary depending on the individual’s body type. Some people will have a normal period, while others may have 1-2 periods or 3-4 months during the entire breastfeeding period. This will not be exactly the same, but you should be careful with birth control during this period even though you are not menstruating. It is possible that a follicle will develop and mature and there is a possibility of pregnancy if contraception is not taken.
