How to use Covidien Oseltamivir

Covidien Oseltamivir is an oral medication used for the prevention and treatment of influenza A and B. The exact dosage and frequency of the medication should be prescribed by your doctor. Oseltamivir is known as oseltamivir and Covidien is its trade name. Oseltamivir is available in granule and capsule dosage forms, capsule is 75mg per capsule for oral use, and granule is 15 or 25mg per packet, which is completely dissolved in warm water and then taken. It is suitable for the treatment of influenza A and B in adults and children aged 1 year and above; and for the prevention of influenza A and B in adults and adolescents aged 13 years and above, with the dosage and course of treatment varying according to the purpose of the medication. When used to treat influenza A and B, start oseltamivir within 48 hours of the onset of influenza symptoms and take 75 mg by mouth twice daily for a course of 5 consecutive days. The medication for children over 1 year of age with influenza requires the required dose to be calculated based on the child’s weight. For those weighing less than 15 kg, take 30 mg per dose, for those weighing 15 to 23 kg, take 45 mg per dose, for those weighing 23 to 40 kg, take 60 mg per dose, and for those weighing more than 40 kg, take 75 mg per dose, all taken orally twice daily. When used for the prevention of influenza A and B, oseltamivir needs to be taken orally within 2 days of close contact with a person with influenza, taking 75 mg once daily for 10 consecutive days as a course of treatment. Oseltamivir is a prescription drug and needs to be used under the supervision of a doctor, and is contraindicated for patients who are allergic to oseltamivir.
