Preservation methods for severed fingers

The severed finger needs to be preserved at low temperature, but there are two principles: dry and refrigerated. Dry is not to directly immerse the finger in all kinds of liquid; Refrigeration is the temperature should not be too low, should be kept at 0 ℃ ~ 4 ℃, there is a mixture of ice and water temperature is more suitable, in addition, if placed in the refrigerator, must be stored in the freezer, not put in the freezer. The stick ice just taken out from the refrigerator is very cold and its temperature is far below 0℃, so if you put your finger directly among many popsicles, it is an inappropriate preservation method and your finger will freeze and lose the condition of re-implantation. The correct preservation method is to wrap the severed finger in multiple layers of sterile dry gauze, put it into a plastic bag without leaky holes, tie the bag tightly, then put the pocket in a vessel with ice and water mixture, and send it to the hospital as soon as possible together with the patient.
