There are currently two options for eyelash implants: prosthetic eyelash implants and autologous eyelash implants. Prosthetic eyelash implants use artificial hair bonding, which is the same as the principle of false eyelashes used in make-up, and will start to fall off after about 3-4 weeks. Autologous eyelash implantation is a microsurgical procedure in which healthy hair follicles are removed from the back of the head and transplanted to the area where the eyelashes are sparse, usually with 40-50 implants at a time, without open wounds, bleeding or sutures. Generally speaking, once the transplanted hair follicles survive, the new eyelashes will grow naturally, just like hair, and will only need to be trimmed in time. The implanted eyelashes are usually permanent until they naturally fall out. The advantage of autologous eyelash implants is that they can be grown according to the desired density, the normal direction of eyelash growth and the individual’s needs. Because the hair is extracted from your own body, the results are realistic and natural, and can grow naturally. After the eyelash implantation procedure, it is important to get plenty of rest and not to drive a vehicle or work at height. Avoid getting water on the surgical site for a week after surgery. After 4 days, you can wash your hair, but do not rub the hair extraction area too hard.
