What type of inflammation is laryngeal oedema?

Laryngeal oedema may not necessarily be due to inflammation. Laryngeal oedema may also be related to factors such as diet and drug allergies. The inflammatory conditions that cause laryngeal oedema are acute laryngitis and acute epiglottitis. Patients usually also have hoarseness, sore throat, fever and difficulty in swallowing, and the diagnosis can be confirmed by clinical presentation and laryngoscopy.
