The manifestation of laryngeal edema inspiratory dyspnea is the main symptom. When the vocal folds are narrowed, the inspiratory airflow pushes the vocal cords inward and downward, making the already narrow vocal folds even narrower, causing this symptom to manifest as follows: 1. Inspiratory movements are intensified and prolonged, with deep and slow inspiration, but no significant increase in ventilation. 2. Inspiratory laryngeal wheezing, which is the sound formed when the inhaled airflow passes through the narrow vocal folds. 3. Inspiratory soft tissue depression, due to the inspiratory gas, not able to enter the lungs through the vocal cords, the thoracoabdominal auxiliary respiratory muscles are compensated to strengthen the movement, expanding the thorax to assist breathing, while the lungs are not able to expand accordingly, and this symptom is caused. 4, hoarseness, if the lesion is located in the vocal cord area, can appear hoarseness, or even loss of voice. 5, purple lips, is caused by lack of oxygen.
