Chinese medicine believes that the growth, development and milk secretion of the normal breast are closely related to the physiological functions of the internal organs, meridians, qi and blood, etc. It is endowed with the innate essence and is nourished by the qi, blood and fluids of the twelve channels of the five organs, six bowels, and in women, it changes at different times according to the strength and weakness of the essence, and its physiological functions are interconnected with menstruation, pregnancy and childbirth. Therefore, although the breast is a local organ, it forms an organic whole with the internal organs through the vertical and horizontal connections of the twelve meridians and the eight odd meridians, and completes its functional activities through the action of essence, qi, blood, and fluids. This holistic concept is in line with the understanding of modern medicine. The breast is related to the lung, kidney, pericardium, liver, gallbladder, spleen, stomach, and the Punch and Ren meridians, with the liver, spleen, and stomach being the most relevant, followed by the Punch and Ren meridians. The foot Yangming Stomach meridian travels through the breast; the foot Taiyin Spleen meridian travels up the diaphragm of the stomach and is distributed in the chest; the foot Convulsive Yin Liver meridian travels up the diaphragm and is distributed around the nipple; the foot Shao Yin Kidney meridian travels through the liver and diaphragm and is connected to the breast; the Punch and Ren meridians start in the cell, the Ren meridian travels through the abdomen, up the Guan Yuan to the chest, and the Punch meridian travels up the umbilicus to the chest and is dispersed. The nipples of women belong to the liver and the breasts belong to the stomach; the nipples of men belong to the liver and the breasts belong to the kidneys.
