The shape of the fiber post is fixed and requires the practitioner to prepare an ideal straight canal, insert the fiber post into the root canal and bond it with a bonding material, and then grind off the excessively long fiber post. The process of staking is basically a trial staking and bonding, with slight adjustments depending on the method of fabrication chosen.
