Paralysis is one of the common symptoms of the nervous system in terms of reduced or lost muscle activity. All purposeful movement in humans is accomplished by the brain through a certain conduction system that governs muscle movement. This movement is called random movement. When paralysis of random movements occurs, the first step is to determine if it is paralysis. Because of certain diseases, such as arthritis or localized problems in the limb, the limb is afraid to move because of pain, which also produces movement restriction. In fact, this is not paralysis. Therefore, the first step should be to determine whether or not the condition is paralysis. The next step is to determine which type of paralysis it belongs to.
Classification of paralysis
(a) According to the different parts of the motor conduction pathway.
1, Damage to cortical motor nerve cells or vertebral tracts – upper motor neuron paresis.
2, damage to the anterior horn cells of the spinal cord – lower motor neuron paresis.
3, motor nerve fiber damage – lower motor neuron paresis.
4.Neuromuscular junctional paresis – neuromuscular junctional paresis.
5.Muscle damage – myogenic paresis.
(B) According to the causes of paralysis
1.Neurogenic.
2.Neuromuscular junctional.
3.myogenic.
(C) According to the degree of paralysis
1.Complete.
2.Non-complete.
(D) According to the state of muscle tone at the time of paralysis
1.Spasticity.
2.Chastity.
(E) Distribution of paralysis by
1.Hemiparesis: cerebral, spinal.
2.Paraplegia: lower limb sex, upper limb sex.
3.Quadriplegia.
4.Monoplegia.
Scope of treatment
Cerebral contusion, peripheral nerve injury, cerebral palsy, paraplegia, hemiplegia, polyneuritis, post-encephalitis, poliomyelitis, progressive muscular atrophy, myasthenia gravis, myotonic dystrophy, hysterical paralysis, etc.
Treatment
1. Manipulation: pointing, pinching, pressing, plucking, rolling, kneading, holding, wrenching.
2. Acupuncture points.
(1) Head and neck acupuncture points: Baihui, Tianzhu, Fengchi, Wanbone, Mute Gate, Dazhi, Yingxiang, Chengjiao, Renying, Lianquan.
(2) Upper extremity acupoints: twelve wells, hegu, yangchi, yangxi, hand sanli, and quchi.
(3) Lower extremity acupuncture points: Huanjiao, Fujiao, Fengshi, Jiimen, Fuxi, Zhizhong, Chengshan, Foot Sanli, Sanyinjiao, Fenglong, Taichong, Foot Linhe, Foot Twelve Wells.
(4) Dorsal points: for upper limb paralysis, the thoracic dorsal point is the main point, and for lower limb paralysis, the lumbar dorsal point is the main point.
Operation
1. Pinch the nail roots and knuckles for upper limb paralysis, and the toenail roots and knuckles for lower limb paralysis. 3-5 times each.
2.Point and press the head and face acupuncture points. For those with salivation and speech disorders, use Yingxiang, Chengjiao, Renying and Lianquan.
3.For upper limb paralysis, point and press the upper limb points and thoracic and back points, roll, knead, push and trigger for spasm; point, poke, take and roll for relaxation.
4.For lower limb paralysis, press the lower limb acupuncture points and lumbar back Yu points, and pat the lumbosacral area; for spasticity, roll, knead, push and trigger; for relaxation, use point, paddle, take and roll.
5, combined deformity, for different deformities, orthopedic method orthopedic.
(1) foot valgus: key techniques for the lower extremity points of the three yin meridians of the foot.
(2) foot inversion: press dial Fenglong, foot three li, Yanglingquan, focus on the foot three yang meridian points manipulation, with pressure on the back of the foot method.
(3) supinated toe foot, bowed foot: orthopedic with pressure on the back of the foot method. Supinated toe foot, focus on the posterior lateral calf points; bowed foot, focus on the dorsal foot and lateral calf points.
(4) Drooping foot: press and dial Taixi, feet Sanli, Fenglong, Chengshan, Chengzhi, Kunlun. Plastic with pressure knee whole foot method or push foot by knee whole foot method.
(4) Knee hyperextension: if caused by the posterior flexor muscles, focus on the commissioning of the middle, commissioning of the Yang, Cheng Fu; if caused by the anterior femoral muscles, focus on Liang Qiu, Blood Sea, He Ding; if both front and rear muscles are paralyzed more severely, they should be treated at the same time.
(5) Knee flexion contracture: plastic surgery with the whole knee method, focusing on the anterior femoral points and the posterior femoral points, and the posterior calf points.
(6) Hip contracture: plastic surgery by pressing the hip. Massage around the joint and key anterior femoral and internal femoral points.
(7) Hip joint laxity: local massage with emphasis on the five pivots, vidao and ring jump.
