Does eczema leave scars?

In general, eczema does not leave scars. Eczema is an inflammatory skin disease of the epidermis caused by a variety of internal and external factors. Pigmented scarring after the healing of eczema, or tiny wounds caused by scratching, usually fades as the eczema is effectively controlled. However, the possibility of scarring cannot be ruled out. If the eczema breaks down due to scratching, causing infection that hinders the healing of the wound, the broken tissue gradually damages the dermis of the skin and can cause crusting and skin mossiness, which will eventually lead to scar formation. The itchy symptoms of eczema can be reduced by applying topical medications such as zinc oxide cream and butyl hydroxy acid cream for anti-inflammatory and itch relief, thus avoiding scratching that leads to eczema breakouts and reducing skin breakouts. Pay attention to skin care in daily life to avoid infection. Eat more vitamin-rich vegetables and fruits to promote skin repair, avoid drinking alcohol and eating allergy-prone foods such as mutton, mangoes, eggs, seafood, etc. to avoid aggravating eczema symptoms due to allergies.
