How high is the immunoglobulin IgG considered severe

The normal value of immunoglobulin IgG is 7.0~16.6g/L. Usually, when IgG is higher than 16.6g/L, it is more serious, which is common in infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases and chronic proliferative diseases, etc. However, the severity of the disease should be judged by combining with the patient’s clinical manifestations, and it cannot be generalized.
1. Infectious diseases: IgG is the most important immunoglobulin in the human body, when viruses, bacteria and other chronic infections, it can make the body IgG rise. If the patient only shows cough, cough sputum, or urinary frequency, urinary urgency and other general symptoms of infection, the condition is usually mild. If the patient is combined with multi-functional organ damage, the condition will be more serious.
2. Autoimmune diseases: patients with autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis also have high immunoglobulin IgG. When patients only have skin rash, hair loss, joint pain and other manifestations, without multi-system involvement, the disease is usually mild. If the patient has heart, lungs, nerves and other multi-system damage, the condition is more serious.
3. Chronic proliferative diseases: Chronic proliferative diseases such as multiple myeloma can also show elevated immunoglobulin IgG, which is an abnormal proliferation of plasma cells, and the condition is usually more serious.
However, high immunoglobulin IgG alone cannot determine the severity of the disease, and it is recommended that patients with increased IgG should go to the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions to improve the examination and make a clear diagnosis, so as to avoid the delay of the disease.
