What to do about eczema on legs

Eczema on legs can be relieved by general treatment, topical medication, systemic medication and ultraviolet light therapy.
1. General treatment: eczema is an inflammation of the superficial dermis and epidermis caused by various internal and external factors and the patient’s physical condition, etc. Patients with leg eczema should avoid scratching and rubbing the local skin; avoid frequent bathing and the use of irritating bathing products; actively search for the cause of the disease and avoid re-exposure to it, such as certain foods, the environment and chemical agents.
2. Topical medication: Boric acid solution can be used in the acute stage of leg eczema when there is more exudation, and glucocorticoid drugs (hydrocortisone, dexamethasone cream, triamcinolone acetonide, halometasone cream, etc.) can be used after the exudation is reduced; in the chronic stage, in addition to hormonal medications, urea ointment, salicylic acid ointment and other medications can also be used.
3. Systemic drug therapy: oral loratadine, cetirizine and other antihistamines can be taken when itching is severe; vitamin C, calcium gluconate and other medications can also be used when eczema on the legs is acute or itching is obvious.
4. Ultraviolet light therapy: applicable to chronic, stubborn eczema.
It is recommended that patients with eczema on the legs seek medical treatment in a timely manner, under the guidance of a doctor to standardize the use of medication, avoid self-medication, so as not to delay the condition.
