What is a gas?

Many people have never experienced acupuncture, and some will feel that needling is scary and painful. In fact, the feeling of needling is not a sharp stabbing pain, but a sore, heavy, painful, non-painful, non-numbing feeling, which we call getting qi. Through communication with the patient, the doctor can learn the patient’s tolerance and then apply certain techniques to control the strength of this needle feeling. After acupuncture, the patient feels soreness, swelling and numbness around the needles, and some acupuncture points will have needle sensation transmitted to distant sensations, which are good signs that the doctor is in place, the technique is effective, the patient’s positive qi is stored inside, and the meridian qi is responsive to the treatment. After the acupuncture point receives Qi, the impulse is transmitted internally through the meridians to the internal organs, achieving the purpose of adjusting the function of the meridians and internal organs.
