The prognosis of poliomyelitis depends on the involvement of the central nervous system, and patients with milder conditions usually recover without sequelae. However, if the paralysis is severe patients will have sequelae. Poliomyelitis, or poliomyelitis, is an acute infectious disease caused by poliovirus infection that can attack the nerves. Mild symptoms can be manifested only as fever, headache, sore throat, etc. In severe cases, it can lead to asymmetric flaccid paralysis and even cause respiratory muscle paralysis. Generally speaking, the prognosis of latent infectious, tonic and non-paralytic poliomyelitis is better after treatment, and there are usually no sequelae. Paralytic poliomyelitis, on the other hand, is difficult to recover completely, and sequelae such as muscle atrophy and limb deformities occur. There is no effective treatment for poliomyelitis, therefore, polio vaccination should be administered as early as possible to avoid the occurrence of poliomyelitis.
