What is the best season to wean

There is no direct relationship between weaning and the seasons, and there is no clear-cut seasonality. Generally speaking, however, it is best to wean in the spring and fall, when the climate and temperature are moderate. Weaning refers to the process of stopping breastfeeding your child and switching him/her to other foods. Usually after the child reaches 10 months old, the nutrients in breast milk can hardly satisfy the child’s developmental and growth needs, and the child needs to take in nutrients through food, so most mothers can start to wean the child after the child reaches 10 months old. Although there is no specific season for weaning and it is not mandatory to wean in which season, it is better to choose spring and fall because the climate and temperature in these two seasons are more suitable, and the child’s appetite will be better, so that it can better replenish the nutrients. In contrast, summer temperatures are too high and winter temperatures are too cold for weaning. During the weaning period, mothers can slowly reduce the amount of breastfeeding and replace it with other foods so that the child can gradually adapt to the new diet.
