”Closure”:
Refers to the injection of a local anesthetic, procaine or lidocaine, around the skin and subcutaneous tissues of the lesion, to anesthetize mainly the nerve endings and make the area in question pain-free during surgery. The application of local anesthetics alone is equivalent to local anesthesia. The term “closure” refers to the injection of a mixture of local anesthetics and hormones into the painful area or joint cavity for the purpose of treating pain. ”Nerve block anesthesia”:
This is a method of anesthesia in which local anesthetics are injected into the nerve plexus, nerve trunk, or around the nerve root to achieve a pain-free local area, mostly for the purpose of surgical anesthesia. These methods include cervical plexus anesthesia, brachial plexus anesthesia, epidural anesthesia or sacral canal anesthesia, etc. It is different from local “closure” treatment. ”Painful point injection therapy”:
The drug is injected at the site of the painful pressure point. It is different from ordinary intramuscular injection or intravenous injection, and it is also different from theoretical “closed” therapy. The term “closed” is mainly used to refer to “pain point” injection, which is very close to the concept of pain point injection, so we think the term “pain point injection therapy” is more accurate. ”Nerve block treatment”:
This is a treatment-oriented method. The drug is injected into the affected nerve plexus, nerve trunk, nerve root or around the spinal cord to treat the pain. The treatment can be done with a single injection or with continuous administration of the drug. Nerve blocks require a high level of skill and are difficult for non-specialists to master, and are mainly performed by anesthesiologists. This method is very effective for “neuralgia” and is also used for “intractable pain” and “advanced cancer pain”. In nerve block treatment, not only local anesthetics are used, but also vitamins, neurotrophic drugs, vasoactive drugs, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and hormonal drugs are injected. It is characterized by high local concentration of drugs, long-lasting effect, good effect, and less side effects. Nerve block therapy is superior to common oral drugs, intravenous and intramuscular injection methods. Distinguishing the above concepts will help in the understanding of pain treatment.
