Methods of rehabilitation training after foot fracture

Functional exercise after foot fracture can be divided into functional exercise after conservative treatment and functional exercise after surgery. For functional exercise after conservative treatment, functional exercise of the ankle joint cannot be performed temporarily due to the need for plaster brace fixation for 5-6 weeks in the early stage, but toe flexion and extension activities can be performed if the toe bone is not fractured. At the same time, you can do straight leg raising training and knee flexion and extension activities to promote blood circulation, reduce swelling and prevent muscle atrophy. If the result is not good, you can move the ankle joint passively and do shock wave therapy to release the adhesions of the tendons. For the rehabilitation exercise after surgery, if it is fixed firmly during surgery, you can do toe flexion and extension activities on the day after surgery, and you can do active flexion and extension ankle functional exercise about 3-5 days after surgery. If the fracture line is blurred, you can walk with weight on crutches, and you can walk with weight after the fracture is completely healed in 8-12 weeks.
