A positive H. pylori indicates that the stomach is infected with H. pylori and requires a combination of medications for treatment. H. pylori is a harmful bacteria that resides mainly in the gastric mucosa. When the stomach is invaded by H. pylori, recurrent stomach diseases, such as gastritis and gastric ulcers, occur because of the invasion of the mucous membrane of the stomach wall caused by H. pylori. When the stomach is not infected with H. pylori, it will be negative when the breath test is the main test. Once the stomach is infected with H. pylori, the test will show a positive result. For people who are diagnosed with H. pylori infection and also have symptoms of stomach discomfort, they should be treated with medication in a timely manner. The treatment is mainly based on a combination of drugs, such as amoxicillin, clarithromycin, omeprazole and thioglycollate, which can eradicate H. pylori while targeting stomach disorders.
