Ginger barley boiled water has the effect of strengthening the spleen and resolving dampness.
Ginger is pungent in flavor and slightly warm in nature. It belongs to the lung, spleen and stomach meridians. It can relieve cold (removing cold from the muscle surface), warm and stop vomiting (treating vomiting caused by stomach cold by warming the spleen and stomach), dissolve phlegm and stop cough, and detoxify fish and crab. It is used in treating wind-cold cold, cold stomach and vomiting, cold phlegm and cough, and fish and crab poisoning. Ginger will help fire and hurt yin, so it is not recommended for people with heat and yin deficiency.
Job’s tears are sweet, light and cool in nature. Attributed to the spleen, stomach, lung meridian. It can promote water seepage and dampness (promote the flow of water to dispel dampness), strengthen the spleen and stop diarrhea, remove paralysis, expel pus, detoxify and disperse knots. It is used in treating edema, dysuria, diarrhea due to spleen deficiency, dampness paralysis, intestinal carbuncle (carbuncle occurring in the intestines and bowels, manifested by fever, pain in the right abdomen, and palpable lumps), and warts (sarcoma growing on the skin). This drug should be used with caution in pregnant women.
