An infant’s temperature can be measured using either an electronic thermometer or a mercury thermometer.
It is more convenient to use an electronic thermometer to measure body temperature. According to the type of electronic thermometer, choose the forehead, external ear canal or temporal part of the baby as the measuring site, and press the measuring button after aligning the measuring site, the temperature of the baby will be displayed on the thermometer.
When using a mercury thermometer to measure body temperature, generally choose the baby’s armpit, first the thermometer mercury column thrown to below 35 ℃, dry the baby’s armpit sweat, the mercury side of the thermometer is placed in the baby’s armpit and clamped, 5 ~ 10 minutes after the removal of the thermometer, check the mercury column where the location of the scale, that is, the baby’s actual body temperature.
If the temperature measurement suggests that the infant has a fever, you need to take the infant to the hospital in time to avoid delay.
