How to prevent diabetes complications

Diabetic complications can amount to more than a hundred, a British study shows that diabetic patients have high glucose levels in their bodies, which is equivalent to giving the human immune system a layer of sugar coating, leading to an increased risk of heart disease and stroke in diabetic patients, according to the World Health Organization, the highest mortality rate in diabetic patients is cardiovascular lesions accounting for 50%, followed by nephropathy for more than 10%, 10%-20% of patients Death from renal failure, more than 95% of diabetic patients are complicated by retinopathy, which is one of the four major causes of blindness. Diabetic foot neuropathy combined with reduced blood flow increases the likelihood of foot ulcers, resulting in more than 85% of non-traumatic amputations. From 2001 to 2005, the World Diabetes Day on November 14 has focused on the prevention and control of diabetic complications. This is because scientific research has confirmed that the main harm of diabetes comes from complications, and it is urgent to control the complications of diabetes. Clinical statistics show that about 10 years after the onset of diabetes, 30% to 40% of patients will develop at least one complication. Once the complications arise, drug treatment seems helpless, so it is especially important to prevent these serious consequences as early as possible and to inhibit or delay the progress of diabetes complications for the prognosis and life of diabetic patients. During the United Nations Diabetes Day 2010, the CDC of the Ministry of Health, the Diabetes Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention jointly launched a series of activities called “Blue Light Action for Diabetes Prevention and Control”, with the aim of raising awareness of diabetes prevention and treatment and cultivating a healthy lifestyle. The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness of diabetes prevention and control and to develop a healthy lifestyle. To prevent diabetes complications, the following points should be done: 1. Actively treat diabetes and keep blood sugar at or near normal levels for a long time. The methods of treating diabetes include diet therapy, exercise therapy, drugs (oral hypoglycemic drugs, insulin), self-monitoring, education and psychotherapy. The specific treatment plan depends on the condition, but it is important for the patient to cooperate closely with the doctor. 2.Actively treat dyslipidemia. Adhere to long-term dietary therapy, eat less animal fat, and limit cholesterol-rich foods such as animal offal, fish roe, egg yolk, etc. Use lipid-regulating drugs when necessary. 3.Appropriate exercise is good for lowering blood sugar, blood lipids, effective weight control, and preventing diabetic comorbidities, and should be adhered to for a long time. Exercise should take aerobic exercise, such as brisk walking, jogging, cycling, swimming, etc. Do not do short time need explosive exercise, such as racing, weight lifting, etc. With serious heart, kidney and other complications of the activities should be determined on a case-by-case basis. 4, adjust the weight. Obesity is the enemy of longevity, is the breeding ground of many diseases, obesity and the occurrence of atherosclerosis, progress has a close relationship, obese diabetes is insensitive to insulin. Therefore, adjusting the weight to make it close to the standard weight is of great importance for good control of blood sugar and prevention of diabetic vascular lesions. 5.When accompanied by hypertension, take additional blood pressure lowering drugs to effectively control blood pressure, which should be controlled below 130/80 mmHg. 6, do not smoke, do not drink alcohol. 7.Establish a correct and regular diabetic diet. 8.Regular fundus, electrocardiogram, kidney and nervous system, foot examination for early detection of complications and early treatment. 5 years after diagnosis, type 1 diabetic patients should start annual check-ups. 2 type diabetic patients should have annual check-ups after diagnosis.
