Optimal Formulation Dosage of Yupingfengsan

There is no such thing as the optimal dosage of Jade Ping Feng San formula. The formula usually uses 60g of Astragalus, 60g of Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, and 30g of Fenghuang Feng, and the exact dosage should be followed by the doctor.
Jade Ping Feng San is composed of Fang Feng, Astragalus and Atractylodes Macrocephalae. It has the efficacy of benefiting qi and consolidating the surface, and can be used clinically to treat conditions such as sweating and fear of wind caused by qi deficiency of the lungs and guards, whiteness of the face (whiteness and lack of luster), and susceptibility of the body to wind and other illnesses.
Astragalus is used in this formula because it has the effect of tonifying the qi of the lungs and spleen, and is the monarch of the formula, which can be used up to 60g; Atractylodes macrocephala has the effect of benefiting qi and tonifying the spleen (regulating the qi of the spleen and stomach), and is the subject of this formula, which is the same as that of Astragalus, with the dosage of 60g; Fenpao huangfeng has the effect of elevating the yang and dispelling the wind, with the regular dosage of 30g; a jujube may be added when using this formula, so as to enhance the power of benefiting qi and tonifying the deficiency.
The adverse effects of Yuping Feng San are not clear. It should not be used in cases of spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the daytime, aggravated by the slightest movement) or night sweating due to yin deficiency (abnormal sweating after going to sleep, cessation of sweating after waking up).
