Cataract surgery treatment methods and precautions

Cataract is a common blinding eye disease. Under normal conditions, it is transparent and light passes through it and some refractive interstitium to reach the retina in order to see objects clearly. Once the lens becomes cloudy for some reason, it can affect the retinal imaging and make it difficult to see. In other words, a cloudy lens that causes vision loss is a cataract. It is recommended that cataracts should be treated promptly when they are found or diagnosed, and that long-term excessive eye use should be avoided. Cataract surgery (1) Cataract ultrasound emulsification: This is a new type of cataract surgery developed at home and abroad in recent years. The lens nucleus is crushed by ultrasound to make it celiac, and then sucked out together with the cortex, and the posterior capsule membrane of the lens is preserved after surgery. If an aging cataract has developed to a visual acuity of less than 0.4, or if the degree and location of the cataract significantly affect or interfere with visual function and the patient wishes to have good visual quality, ultrasonic cataract extraction surgery can be performed. Its advantages are small incision, less tissue damage, short operation time and fast vision recovery.      (2) Extracapsular cataract extraction: the incision is smaller than that of intracapsular extraction, and the cloudy lens nucleus is discharged and the cortex is aspirated, but the posterior capsule of the lens is left behind. The posterior capsule membrane is preserved and a posterior chamber-type IOL can be implanted at the same time, and visual function can be restored immediately after surgery. Therefore, extracapsular extraction of cataract has become the routine surgery for cataract. 2.How much does cataract surgery cost Cataract surgery costs several thousand dollars for single eye surgery and several thousand dollars to ten thousand dollars for crystal depending on the surgery method and the implanted IOL. At present, tertiary hospitals and many local hospitals with advanced equipment are doing ultrasonic cataract extraction combined with folded IOL implantation, and the cost for a single eye varies according to the IOL selected. The cost of surgery varies slightly among regional hospitals and private hospitals. 3. What are the precautions after cataract surgery Try not to shake your head violently, lower your head, rub your eyes; control coughing and sneezing; keep your bowels clear, prevent constipation and eat more coarse fiber food; strictly follow the doctor’s requirements for eye drops, pay attention to keep your hands hygienic when dropping eye drops and do not squeeze your eyes. Do not put water into the operated eye within two weeks after surgery. Wash your face can be wiped with a clean towel. Regular review. If there is any abnormality, seek medical attention as soon as possible. 4.How long is the recovery time of cataract surgery The recovery period of cataract surgery is 1-3 months. During this period, we should pay attention to maintenance, avoid strenuous exercise, bumps and so on, and also pay attention to hygiene. However, everyone’s situation is different and some people may have a longer recovery time. Patients with refractive error can have their lenses corrected after three months. 5.How to eat after cataract surgery (1) Pay attention to balanced nutritional intake. (2) Eat more vegetables, fruits and other easily digestible foods. (3) Eat more coarse fiber food that can be easily digested to prevent constipation. (4) Avoid smoking and alcohol, eat less fishy, spicy and stimulating foods such as fish, shrimp and leek, and do not eat too tonic foods such as ginseng for three months after surgery. (5) Diet for diabetic patients should be carried out as instructed.
