Perennial dark circles under the eyes, allergic rhinitis is to blame

The dark circles under the eyes were originally caused by allergic rhinitis This year, 25-year-old Ms. Zhang, at a young age, has a serious panda eyes, or dark circles. Every time she goes on a blind date, the other party is scared away by her dark circles. It is often said that staying up late is the cause of dark circles, but Ms. Zhang never stays up late, so where do the dark circles come from? This year, the company organized a routine medical checkup for employees at Xiamen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Dr. Chen Zhaoyuan, an attending physician in the Department of Otolaryngology, solved the mystery that had plagued Ms. Zhang for years. It turned out that Ms. Zhang had been suffering from severe allergic rhinitis, but she had been treating it as a cold, without any formal treatment. Chen Zhaoyuan said, Ms. Zhang’s allergic rhinitis caused serious nasal congestion, the orbital tissue around the nose blood circulation is blocked, causing the tiny blood vessels to expand bruising, and the skin in this area is very thin, so the eyes look darker, which is often referred to as panda eyes. In addition to frequent eye massage to promote blood circulation, the most important thing is to treat allergic rhinitis, only when rhinitis is under control can we eliminate dark circles at the root. After a period of anti-allergy treatment, Ms. Zhang’s rhinitis was controlled and the dark circles under her eyes gradually disappeared. Allergic rhinitis can easily trigger asthma Ms. Wang’s son Yu Ye (a pseudonym), who is 5 years old, has been allergic to seafood since he was a child, and when he eats shrimp and crab, he gets an itchy rash. Last year, Yu Ye was diagnosed with allergic rhinitis in his hometown hospital because of sneezing and running nose, which improved with medication. But this summer, once the air conditioning is on, the rhinitis flared up again. Because she was busy at work, Ms. Wang didn’t have time to take her child to the hospital for a review. Last week, one day in the middle of the night, the child suddenly had breathing difficulties, sent to the hospital, it turned out to be an asthma attack. Fortunately, it was found in time, otherwise the consequences were unthinkable. Chen Zhaoyuan said that allergic rhinitis and asthma are allergic diseases of the respiratory tract, mostly caused by mite allergies. If rhinitis is not controlled, asthma can easily be triggered. Chen Zhaoyuan reminded parents that children with allergic rhinitis who have difficulty breathing must go to the pediatrician to check if they are having an asthma attack. Children who have had asthma attacks must have regular checkups at the ENT department to control rhinitis in time. Pay attention to avoid allergens in daily life, for example, try to wear a mask during pollen season, and clean the dust cover before opening the air conditioner in summer. ”If you have a cold for more than two weeks, you may have allergies. It is easy for people to mistake allergic rhinitis for a cold. Generally speaking, there are still some differences between the two. Allergy has a certain heredity, while the cold does not have heredity, but is contagious, often the whole family at the same time successive onset; allergic rhinitis also has the characteristics of seasonal onset, such as the flowering season is more likely to attack. Of course, air conditioning in the southern region is also likely to induce rhinitis attacks. There is no such regularity in the onset of cold. Allergic rhinitis can last for more than a month, while colds often heal themselves in one to two weeks, and are often accompanied by sore throat and body aches. If the “cold” lasts for more than 2 weeks and there are no other obvious symptoms, it is basically determined that it is not a real cold, and it is recommended to go to ENT department for examination in time to further clarify the diagnosis.
