The risers, or wisdom teeth, are the third human molars, the innermost teeth on the alveolar bone in the human mouth. There is usually one on the top and bottom, and one on the left and right. When the third molar erupts, it happens to be around 18 years old, when the physiological and psychological development of human is close to maturity, and the eruption of the third molar is also called wisdom tooth or riser tooth. Nowadays, people’s food is getting finer and finer, and people’s jawbone is not stimulated enough, which leads to the jawbone of people nowadays being smaller than that of people in the past. The eruption of the teeth may be incomplete or buried in the bone tissue or soft tissue, so it is called blocked wisdom teeth, which can easily lead to caries of adjacent teeth, pulpitis, loose teeth, and pericoronitis.
