What is prolapse?

Prolapse is a disease in which the mucosal layer of the rectal wall or the whole layer of the intestinal wall is displaced downward. Prolapse in a narrow sense refers to the whole layer of the rectum, circumferential a circle of intestinal segments out of the anus, most often occurs during defecation or increased abdominal pressure, the patient needs to emergency medical treatment when acute incarceration occurs, the main treatment is manipulation of reset and surgical treatment, the need to do the relevant tests are anal fingerprinting, anoscopy, colonoscopy, anorectal manometry and so on. Prolapse is categorized into incomplete prolapse and complete prolapse according to the partial or total displacement of the rectal wall. Clinically, according to whether the rectal wall is out of the anus or not, prolapse is divided into internal prolapse and external prolapse, and clinically speaking, prolapse is generally referred to as external prolapse. Middle-aged and elderly women are most likely to suffer from prolapse, especially women aged 60 to 70 years old have the highest incidence of prolapse, while adult men are less likely to suffer from prolapse, but the incidence of prolapse is higher in men under 40 years old than in men over 40 years old. The clinical symptoms of prolapse are rectal prolapse, mucus stool, constipation, urgency and heaviness, anal sacrococcygeal distension and bleeding, anal incontinence and so on. Prolapse of the anus if repeated episodes, easy to cause adverse complications, it is recommended to receive standardized treatment as soon as possible to avoid aggravation of the condition.
