What is included in the hepatitis B two-for-half

The hepatitis B two-to-one test, known as the five hepatitis B tests, includes surface antigen, surface antibody, E antigen, E antibody and core antibody. A positive surface antigen indicates the presence of hepatitis B virus in the body and is a sign of infectiousness. A positive surface antibody is a protective antibody and indicates that the body is immune to the hepatitis B virus. a positive E antigen indicates that the virus is actively replicating and highly infectious. a positive E antibody is not a protective antibody and is found in people recovering from an acute infection or in chronic carriers of minor triplets. Core antibodies are also not protective antibodies and are positive to indicate that the body has been infected with the hepatitis B virus.
