Omeprazole and Domperidone Difference

Omeprazole is an inhibitor of gastric acid secretion and domperidone is a gastric motility promoter. Omeprazole blocks gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the activity of proton pump. Adverse reactions such as diarrhea and headache may occur after use of the drug and are usually relieved by discontinuation of the drug. Patients with hepatic or renal insufficiency, pregnant women, and nursing mothers should use the drug with caution. The use of this drug in children is not clear, allergic to this drug, infants and young children, patients with severe renal insufficiency, the use of this drug is prohibited. Domperidone promotes gastric emptying by increasing peristalsis in the gastrointestinal tract. Adverse reactions such as insomnia, headache, irregular menstruation in women may occur after use of the drug, which can usually be relieved after stopping the drug. Use with caution in infants, children under 12 years of age, and pregnant women. Breastfeeding should be discontinued during use of this product in lactating women. The use of this drug is prohibited in patients with mechanical gastrointestinal obstruction, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, and breast cancer. Combination with ketoconazole oral preparations, erythromycin, etc. is prohibited. This drug should be used for 3 days, if the symptoms are not relieved, you should seek medical attention. This drug should generally not be used for more than 1 week.
