The potential of each individual is not fully realized. So, why is the potential not fully realized? Let’s talk about consciousness first. More than a hundred years ago, Freud proposed that the human subconscious, i.e., the psychic energy of a person that he or she is not aware of. He described it as an iceberg: the consciousness is only the tip of the iceberg that is exposed to the water; the majority of the iceberg is below the surface, i.e., the subconscious. The subconscious mind is not only huge, but also has enormous energy. What is the subconscious mind doing? The conscious mind takes a certain amount of time off each day, while the subconscious mind is working all the time. When we study, work, walk, eat, drink, sleep, etc., the subconscious mind is always working silently, maintaining us and guarding us. Freud suggested that the subconscious mind is revealed when the conscious mind is at rest, so the subconscious mind can be understood by analyzing dreams. If we don’t care about our subconscious mind, and spend all our time in the endless external temptations, tangible and intangible, and suppress a lot of junk to the subconscious mind, how can the subconscious mind exert its power? How can the potential of the subconscious mind be fully realized? Therefore, many diseases are related to the mind, i.e. psychosomatic diseases, such as bronchial asthma, ulcer disease, rheumatoid arthritis, primary hypertension, etc. So, how to take care of the subconscious mind? Rest the mind. Potential is often unleashed without stagnation in the moment of meditation. Qigong, Tai Chi, yoga, hypnosis, etc. can all ease the subconscious mind and achieve mind-body unity and enhance potential.
