The best way to get rid of a pneumothorax

There is no absolute best way to get rid of pneumothorax. Open pneumothorax and tension pneumothorax need emergency treatment, and closed pneumothorax can be treated conservatively and exhaustively.
1. Open pneumothorax: it should be transformed into closed pneumothorax immediately. Gauze, cotton pads, etc. can be used as compressions to cover the wound at the end of the patient’s forceful exhalation, and pressure bandages can be applied.
2. Tension pneumothorax: rapid decompression of chest exhaust should be carried out, and then immediately transferred to the hospital for treatment.
3. Closed pneumothorax
(1) Conservative treatment: Conservative treatment can be considered for patients with closed pneumothorax who have the first attack, small amount and mild symptoms. Strict bed rest and oxygen inhalation.
(2) Ventilation treatment: Thoracentesis aspiration is suitable for medium-large amount of pneumothorax, and closed chest drainage is suitable for large amount of pneumothorax with obvious dyspnea.
Patients with pneumothorax are recommended to go to the hospital immediately and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
