Is invasive thymoma a cancer?

Aggressive thymoma is cancerous and has a high degree of malignancy. According to pathologic typing, it includes type A thymoma, type B thymoma, and type AB thymoma, without the expression of thymic carcinoma. For aggressive thymoma, surgical treatment can be considered directly if there is no distant metastasis. Generally, enlarged resection is performed, on the basis of complete removal of thymic tissue, and complete removal of surrounding fat tissue, so as to prevent recurrence of the tumor and reduce the occurrence of myasthenia gravis, and to achieve the effect of radical treatment.
