What is the best treatment for fecal incontinence?

Inguinal hernia is one of the most common diseases in pediatric surgical patients, commonly known as “hernia”, “air egg”, “dislodged intestine”, “dropped small intestine “etc. It is a congenital disorder in which tissues and organs in the abdominal cavity, such as the intestinal canal, enter the scrotum through a congenital orifice at the root of the thigh. Syringomyelia has a similar pathogenesis to inguinal hernia and is treated in basically the same way. The traditional surgical approach is a transinguinal incisional hernia sac high ligation, which has been used in the clinic for decades. However, open surgery is very traumatic, and it is easy to damage the vas deferens, spermatic vessels, bladder and other surrounding organs during surgery, and postoperative complications such as scar formation, scrotal swelling, testicular atrophy, testicular retraction and hernia recurrence occur from time to time. With the widespread use of laparoscopic surgery in pediatric surgery, laparoscopic surgery has been promoted by more and more pediatric surgery experts and scholars for its minimally invasive, safe, aesthetic and exact results. Under the magnified view of laparoscopy, it is easier for the surgeon to identify and separate the vas deferens and spermatic vessels at the inguinal orifice of the pediatric patient, and to operate through the extraperitoneal space at the inguinal orifice without destroying the levator muscle and freeing the spermatic cord, which causes little interference to the spermatic cord and avoids damage to blood vessels, nerves, vas deferens and other organs due to extensive separation through the inguinal canal, and truly achieves high ligation of the hernia sac. Although laparoscopic surgery requires higher surgical level, it is more acceptable to children and parents because of its small incision, less postoperative complications, faster recovery and less painful hospital stay. The single-port laparoscopic surgery that our department pioneered in China is the most minimally invasive of all. Single-port laparoscopic surgery is the most advanced treatment method, in which a very small incision is made through the belly button and laparoscopic instruments are inserted to complete hernia surgery. Our department performs thousands of surgeries every year and has achieved good clinical results. First of all, our babies have no scar after the surgery and achieve a good cosmetic effect. Secondly, laparoscopic surgery for hernia is safe, effective and has a low recurrence rate. Our surgical method allows us to observe whether there is a hernia on the opposite side at the same time during the surgery, and if there is, to handle it together with the surgery to avoid the possibility of re-operation.
